Customisation without obsolescence

A core feature of Open Source software is that customisation can be undertaken to any extent and at any time without the risk of creating an obsolete system. This contrasts starkly with traditional software where new versions are released at periods (often to suit the vendors). Retaining an older version or making changes to the new release can result in the client becoming isolated with an unsupported, unmaintainable, outdated and inflexible system.

Open Source is completely different. Having access to the source code for Open Source software, combined with its avoidance of proprietary formats, ensures that our clients can have as much choice, freedom and flexibility as they desire, and that they can return to the original software if required, without any problems of incompatibility or integration.
